September Sept. 18 and 19th-----------8th Annual Southern Coastal Bluegrass Festival Featured along with good bluegrass and bluegrass gospel will be: local cuisine, arts and crafts, storytelling, clogging and square dancing. Gates will open on Saturday at 10am and close at 8:00pm. Sunday at 10:00am and close at 7:00pm. Bring Blankets, and Chairs.
Free Summer Fireworks 
Offered every Thursday evening starting May 28th. Stroll down to the boardwalk area or walk out to the beach to view the fireworks. Live music starts at 6pm at the Gazebo and the Fireworks show begins at 9pm. Day may vary with Holidays. Attention Fishermen: North Carolina requires a license to fish in coastal waters. Anyone over the age of 16 is required to purchase a CFRL, however if you already have a lifetime freshwater license you do not have to purchase the new coastal waters license. You also do not need to purchase the new license if you are fishing from a pier or charter boat.
